Privacy and Cookies Policy

How FaceSwapGif collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes account data, uploaded media, generated files, and cookie data.

Last updated: 2026-07-15

This Privacy and Cookies Policy explains how FaceSwapGif ("FaceSwapGif", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our websites, face swap tools, accounts, support, and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. The Terms of Service and Content Policy provide additional rules for using FaceSwapGif.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account data: name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, session data, and information provided by Google, GitHub, or another sign-in provider you choose.
  • Uploaded and generated media: source GIFs, videos or photos, reference face images, previews, thumbnails, generated outputs, and technical metadata needed to process them.
  • Task and usage data: generation settings, task status, provider references, timestamps, credit activity, download history, and actions taken in My Creations.
  • Transaction data: product, order, credit, subscription, payment status, billing contact, and limited fraud-prevention information when paid checkout is enabled. Payment providers process complete payment credentials; FaceSwapGif does not need to store full card numbers.
  • Support and safety data: support tickets, abuse reports, content references, descriptions, optional contact details, attachments, and replies.
  • Technical data: IP address, request time, browser and device information, referring page, error and security logs, language, and cookie or similar identifiers.

Please do not include passwords, government-issued identity documents, payment credentials, or unrelated sensitive information in uploads or reports.

Face images and uploaded media

FaceSwapGif processes face images only to provide the face detection, mapping, generation, preview, storage, safety, and support functions you request. We do not intentionally use uploaded faces to identify you, verify your identity, or build a biometric identity profile, and we do not train our own AI models on your uploaded media.

You must have the rights and permission required for every person and item of media you upload. The Content Policy prohibits non-consensual face use and other harmful uses.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts and sessions;
  • validate uploads, detect and map faces, run generation tasks, and deliver results;
  • track task progress, credits, orders, downloads, and account history;
  • operate, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Service;
  • create aggregate or de-identified operational statistics that are not reasonably intended to identify an individual;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and violations of our policies;
  • respond to support, privacy, rights, and removal requests;
  • comply with legal obligations and protect users, FaceSwapGif, and others; and
  • send service communications and, only where permitted, requested marketing communications.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations, as appropriate.

Service providers and disclosure

We disclose only the information reasonably needed to operate the relevant feature. Depending on the configuration in use, recipients may include:

  • Cloudflare for hosting, Workers, database, media storage, image processing, networking, and security;
  • configured AI processing providers, such as VModel, Replicate, or Fal, which receive the media and task parameters needed to perform a requested generation;
  • Google or GitHub for optional account sign-in;
  • Resend or Cloudflare for email delivery;
  • Stripe, PayPal, Creem, or another displayed payment provider when checkout is enabled;
  • Google Analytics or Plausible for optional site analytics; and
  • Crisp or Tawk for optional customer support widgets.

These providers may process information in other countries under their own terms and privacy obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate suspected abuse or security incidents, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the Service.

We do not sell personal information, uploaded face images, or generated media. We may use aggregate or de-identified statistics to understand reliability and feature usage, but we do not use them to identify you and will not attempt to re-identify data that has been de-identified.

Cookies and similar technologies

FaceSwapGif uses necessary cookies and local storage for authentication, security, language selection, interface preferences, and other features you request. Blocking these technologies may prevent account or preference features from working.

When configured, analytics, Google sign-in or One Tap, and customer support services may set or read additional cookies or similar identifiers. These services can collect device, browser, IP address, page, and interaction information. You can restrict cookies through your browser and use controls offered by the applicable provider. Where consent is legally required, non-essential technologies should be enabled only after the required choice is provided.

Storage, access, and retention

Input and output media is stored in Cloudflare R2. Media URLs are used by our servers and configured generation providers to process tasks. Account history is access-controlled, but anyone who obtains a direct media URL may be able to access it until the object is deleted, so do not share those URLs with people you do not trust.

Our current production retention schedule is:

  • source media, reference media, previews, thumbnails, and generated outputs referenced by a task record are retained with that record;
  • unbound pending uploads are generally scheduled for deletion after 24 hours, and intermediate processing files may be deleted after a task reaches a final status; and
  • private final task records are automatically removed from user history after 7 days. Public creations are excluded while they remain public.

Deleting a creation from My Creations deletes it from your creation history. Related media and records remain subject to the retention practices described in this policy.

Account, transaction, credit, security, and support records may be retained while your account is active and afterward for the period reasonably needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Third-party processors may keep temporary copies under their own retention practices.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a local data protection authority.

You can delete completed creations from My Creations. For account, privacy, unauthorized-face, or media-removal requests, email support@faceswapgif.com or use Report Abuse. We may need enough information to locate the account or content and confirm that the requester is authorized, but do not send identity documents unless we specifically explain why they are necessary.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls, authenticated account routes, scoped storage access, and encrypted network transport. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

FaceSwapGif and its providers may process information outside your country. Those locations may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use available legal and contractual safeguards for international transfers.

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and the Content Policy prohibits uploading or generating face swap content involving minors. If you believe a minor's information or likeness has been processed, contact us or submit a report so we can review and remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service when appropriate.
